UKCAT Bursary 2023 Registration Procedure Criteria Dates Details. UKCAT Bursary Scheme 2023 will start in the month of May 2023 and end in the month of September 2023.  Applications outside these dates will not be accepted.

Test fees:

The following UCAT test application fees apply in 2023:

Tests are taken in the EU between 1 July & 31 August 2023 £65
Tests are taken in the EU between 1 September and 2 October 2023 £87
Tests are taken outside the EU £115

Eligibility UKCAT Bursary 2023:

  • 16 to 19 Bursary or Educational Maintenance Allowance (shortly called EMA)
  • Free School Meals
  • Discretionary Learner Support  also called DLS (or equivalent FE funding for Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland)
  • Full Special Support Grant  or Student Finance Full Maintenance Grant (or equivalent HE funding for Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland)
  • Income Support,  Employment and Support Allowance, Job Seeker’s Allowance, or Universal Credit
  • An equivalent means-tested benefit to one of the above if they are outside the UK but within the EU

Bursaries are also available to candidates who:

  • Live with a parent or guardian in receipt of the Asylum Support
  • Live with a parent or guardian in receipt of Income Support, Income-based Job seeker’s Allowance or it can be Income-based Employment & Support Allowance
  • Live with a parent or guardian in receipt of Universal Credit if the household income as specified on the award is less than £35000.
  • Live with a family member in receipt of Child Tax Credit where the applicant is named on the award & the household income as specified on the award is less than £35000.

Applicants are required to provide 1 piece of documentary evidence from the list given below so as to support their application:

Official letter confirming award (usually from school or college) for the academic year 2023.

We don’t accept evidence that relates to scholarships or bursaries for tuition fees at fee-paying or independent schools.

Educational Maintenance Allowance Govt. agency award letter issued for the academic year 2023.
Free School Meals A letter from your school or college confirming that you receive free school meals.
Full Maintenance Grant or

Special Support Grant

Student Finance Award letter for the academic year 2023 including reference to the maintenance or special support grant element & not only tuition fee or maintenance loans.
Child Tax Credit Tax Credit Award Notice for 2023 which must involve the pages showing total household income (should be less than 35000) and the section where the applicant is named.

Award letter from the UK Jobcentre dated 2023.
EU means-tested benefits Award letter from a relevant govt. agency + a translation into English – both dated 2023
Asylum Support Award letter of Asylum Support – dated 2023.

We don’t accept: 

  • P60’s
  • Annual Accounts
  • Award letters for Council Tax Benefit
  • Child Benefit or Housing Benefit
  • Scholarships/bursaries for tuition fees at fee-paying or independent schools.

UKCAT Bursary 2023 Application process:

  • All applications must be filed online using the application form.
  • The applicants can download the application form by visiting the official site.
  • Please supply documentary evidence which can be uploaded in up to 2 files.
  • Your application will be rejected if you don’t provide the full evidence needed.
  • Applicants unable to upload documents still need to apply online & send their documents via post.
  • Instructions regarding this are contained in your confirmation email.
  • Please ensure that you use the correct postage as undelivered items won’t be retrieved from Post Office.
  • Due to the volume of applications, we can’t return the evidence provided.
  • You are therefore advised to provide copies of documents rather than the originals.
